In a forum post on the official Darksiders II community site, THQ has announced that Darksiders II is scheduled for release on 26 June, 2012.
The publisher also revealed a host of pre-order incentives, although those only apply to gamers in the UK, Australia, Europe, the US and Canada.
“Hey guys, today we are excited to announce the pre-order incentives for Darksiders II which is scheduled for release on June 26. We have some fantastic exclusive offers from our retail partners. This exclusive content will greatly enhance your experience within Darksiders II. Check out each of the exclusive offers and links to international partners below.”
Those who pre-order the game through selected retailers will get exclusive in game content, including the Death Ride pack, which features “multiple exclusive side-quests allowing players to explore more of the Maker’s Realm and Dead Plains. In addition players will be able to aid an ancient Construct, battle The Bloodless and retrieve Karn’s lost treasure.”
Then there is the Angel of Death pack, which includes “enhanced armor with an angel inspired design as well as a pair of matching scythes.” Finally, those who pre-order through Amazon will get the Deadly Despair pack, which features “an additional speed boost for Death’s horse Despair, that allows players to traverse the world at a much faster rate.”
Local THQ distributor Ster Kinekor has not yet confirmed whether South African gamers will get any pre-order incentives.
