Infinite Game Publishing and Roadhouse interactive have announced that they are working on something called MechWarrior Tactics. We have no idea what it is, but the publisher is also responsible for the free-to-play FPS Sim Mech Warrior Online.

A website has been created which displays little more than a countdown timer, as well as a registration zone where players may enter a “commander name” and their email address. The countdown timer ends on Monday, 20 February, so we can expect more details then.

The studios credited at the bottom of the page are mostly responsible for Facebook games, which has led many to assume that the game will be yet another social media gaming experience. However, Stephanie Schopp, the game’s PR representative has confirmed to PC Gamer that MechWarrior Tactics is not a Facebook game.

Roadhouse Interactive and Acronym Games have also both recently teamed up to create Family Guy Online, which as the name suggests is an MMO based on the popular animated television series.
