The way I see it, there are two kinds of people in the world. People who bought Modern Warfare 3, and people who deliberately did not buy Modern Warfare 3 because they are sick and tired of Activision’s annual Call of Duty release pattern.

Having said that, even the most hardened CoD sceptic could potentially be lured over to Kotick’s dark side by the prospect of being able to play the online portion of the game for free throughout the coming weekend.

The free play-time kicks off on Thursday, and continues through until the end of the weekend. While the competitive online portion of the game will be completely unlocked over the weekend, the single player campaign will not be accessible.
