Capcom has finally dropped some real facts about Resident Evil 6, a game that until now hasn’t been much more than a name with a viral campaign and a trailer featuring Leon S. Kennedy’s haircut.
Let’s get the big one out of the way first – yes, for the first time ever, you’ll be able to shoot and move at the same time. This amazing feature comes to the series via an “evolved control system” that Capcom has obviously had its top men working on for months already. You’ll also be able to slide, roll, and take cover.
The game’s primary location is a made-up coastal town in China called Lanshiang, and it all takes place in 2013. The unidentified third protagonist from the game’s reveal trailer remains mostly unidentified for the moment, but Capcom has let on that he’s “a mercenary currently engaged in a bloody conflict in Eastern Europe where reports confirm that B.O.W.s are increasingly being used”.
Zombies will now run, jump at you, and even use weapons, and there’s a new monster on the block in the shape of the regenerating J’avo, whose party trick includes mutating amputated limbs into exciting new things. Goody.
The game’s out in November.
