Maxis to announce new game in two weeks

22 February 2012

Development studio Maxis, the brains behind SimCity and The Sims (among others), is planning on revealing a new game at this year’s Game Developer’s Conference (GDC), which takes place in just a few weeks time.

The revelation came via a tweet from EA’s senior PR Erik Reynolds, who said that more information about the project will be revealed over the next few weeks on EA’s Game Changers website.

Given Maxis’ background, speculation is rife that the developer will announce a brand new SimCity game. However, Maxis is also responsible for Spore and the record breaking The Sims franchise, as well as early classics such as SimPark, SimCopter, and Sim Ant.

At any rate, we will find out exactly what EA and Maxis have up their sleeves in thirteen days time, according to a massive clock on the Game Changers website.

EA’s GDC conference will be broadcast live online, so be sure to tune in if you’re a Sim-anything fan.
