DoGaming recently kicked of the 2012 DGL league timetable, with a wide variety of games being played competitively and the largest cash prize pool up for grabs that we’ve seen in a local gaming league to date.
Logitech recently announced that it is injecting a R50,000 prize purse into the StarCraft II tournament.
EA South Africa is sponsoring R50,000 towards Battlefield 3 along with Incredible Connection who is also putting R50,000 towards the prize pool.
Monster Energy is putting R10,000 into Modern Warfare 3, while Megarom is putting R50,000 into the MW3 kitty.
Finally, Alienware has promised over R250,000 worth of gaming hardware prizes.
Call of Duty 4
Long time rivals Bravado and Vitriolic have been battling it out for first place in the premier league. The two teams go up against each other next week in what will be a deciding match, while [DI]Chaos and BFB Regiment are sitting at third and fourth currently.
StarCraft II
After the third week of the StarCraft II DGL, Francois ‘BlooD-Clot’ Malan sits at the top of Group B, while Rob ‘PandaTank’ Botha and Ryan ‘CryTT’ Odoherty are tied for first place in Group A.
FIFA 12
At almost halfway through the first leg of the FIFA 12 DGL on PS3, Brandon ‘Mannes1984’ Manuel and Rolando ‘RoLo_87’ de Aveiro share the top spot after taking three consecutive wins.
Modern Warfare 3 Console Cup
ChaosCrew and XtaZ ¦ MW3 are the current top placers in their respective groups in the Xbox 360 MW3 tournament, while D3TH ANG3LS, AP3X PREDATORS, RoA SLAYERZ and F34R-Elite are sitting in the lead of their respective groups.
Battlefield 3
FiB is leading Group A in Battlefield 3, having taken two wins from two games. NSD is sitting in first place in Group C, defeating BUD to maintain their position. Group H currently has a three-way tie for first place, with TE, ASF and oNe all looking strong.
Gears of War 3
Killer Elite (KEGOW3) and The Fallen Lobotomizers (FLS Morticians) are tied for first place in the Gears of War 3 league at the end of the first week.
