Mafia 3 in development, developer helping Rockstar with GTA V

6 March 2012

According to a report on VG247, Mafia 2 developer 2K Czech is currently working on Mafia 3, and at the same time is helping Rockstar with Grand Theft Auto V.

Apparently the developer has been working on Mafia 3 for almost a year, and it is currently helping Rockstar to produce animation for cut scenes and general gameplay.

Take-Two is the publisher behind both franchises, so it should not come as too much of a surprise to find the developers combining forces and sharing secrets.

Grand Theft Auto V was recently unveiled via a trailer, but we have no idea when the game is coming out.

Mafia 3 development is also well underway, and according VG247’s source, the team is stripping the “game’s concepts and tech back to basics” and rebuilding.
