Valve has announced that Counter Strike: Global Offensive will be released in the Summer of 2012, which means Winter in the Southern Hemisphere. Gamers can therefore look forward to a release around midway through the year.
Valve’s Chet Faliznek also stated that there will be absolutely no differences between the console and PC versions. That includes no aim-assist for the console versions.
Faliznek stated that Valve wants to make the console version as similar to the PC version as possible.
The game is currently in development, and is planned for release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
It is the fourth game in the iconic Counter-Strike franchise, and it will be released on Xbox Live Arcade, Steam and the PlayStation Network in digital download format.
Pricing and exact release dates have yet to be confirmed.
