SA competitive StarCraft II tournament organisers Polarfluke have confirmed the details of their March of the Marines tournament.
The customary R7,000 cash prize pool will be up for grabs, making it SA’s most lucrative monthly eSports event. The cash prize will be divided among the tournament’s top finishing players.
There will be a fast-track qualifying round which will take place on Wednesday 14 March, with play kicking off at 7PM.
The event itself will take place over the weekend of 17-18 March, with play starting at 2PM on both days.
The tournament will be played online using the European Battle.net servers. That means that players participate from home, and that they require a European Battle.net account and an internet connection.
Players must also be over 18 years old or have a written consent letter signed by a legal guardian.
The cash prizes will be divided up as follows:
Prizes: R7, 000.00 (~$900)
- Winner: R2,400.00
- 2nd: R1,600.00
- 3rd: R1,000.00
- 4th: R600.00
- 5th-8th: R350.00
SA’s Activision-Blizzard distributor, Megarom, is sponsoring the tournament, and entry is free and open to all.
Polarfluke will be providing a live commentary and it will be possible to watch the games live via the Polarfluke live stream.
