Less than two days after launching its Wasteland 2 Kickstarter campaign, inXile Entertainment has reached and surpassed its target of $900,000.
It’s on, people, and in the time it took me to type this article, another $8,000 or so was added.
Eight people backed the project up for $10,ooo (or more) for the grand prize-incentive of a private party with the developers; an in-game shrine; 50 copies of the game; and a place in heaven.
One of those people was Razer CEO, Min-Liang Tan, who pledged the cash to absolve childhood guilt.
“I’m sorry for playing on a pirated copy of Wasteland years ago, I hope this makes up for it,” he posted on Twitter. Aw, bless.
“WOW!!! You guys are amazing! The fans are really stepping up here with donations and spreading the word,” reads the latest update from project lead Brian Fargo on the Kickstarter page.
“I haven’t been more excited to make a game in over a decade. It is a dream to focus all my attention on making a wonderful experience without distraction from outside forces. We will not let you down!”
Don’t let that stop you from donating if you haven’t already, though. There are still 33 days to go.
