Local gaming clan, PewPew, has announced that they are now officially sponsored by peripheral maker Roccat and locally based Blue Catz Marketing, who is now the official distributor for Roccat in South Africa.
PewPew founder and CoD 4 team captain, Rene “Maplassie” Kruger, made the announcement on the official PewPew website.
“We are pleased to announce that through diligent negotiations and effort from our friends at Blue Catz Marketing, involving trips to Roccat Studios in Germany and many hours of drafting up proposals and meetings later, we are now proudly sponsored by Roccat and Blue Catz Marketing. This is a direct sponsorship and an awesome achievement indeed. “
“On behalf of the entire PewPew team we would like to thank Jonathan Vreugenburg, Linda Williamson, Ben van Jaarsveld, Christine Vreugdenburg, Jason Williamson and Stephen Garavarian for all the time, money and effort they have put into this, and of coarse Roccat Germany for their support! We won’t let you guys down!”
From now on, PewPew will wear fully branded Roccat clothing at gaming events, including tracksuits, caps and shirts. They will also receive Roccat peripherals to use.
Blue Catz Marketing now pays for PewPew’s Battlefield 3, CoD 4 and Modern Warfare 3 private practice and Team Speak servers, as well as the PewPew website. Blue Catz will also pay for PewPew’s travel and accommodation when attending major LANs and events, including Rage later this year.
