Guild Wars 2 Collector’s Edition will cost more outside the US

30 March 2012

The Collector’s Edition of Guild Wars 2 will costs a little more in Europe and the UK than in the US. Americans will pay $150 (R1152), while Europeans will pay €150 (R1537), which is almost R400 more.

We tend to fall in line with European pricing models here in SA, so we can expect to pay around R1500-R1600.

So why the higher price outside the US?

Speaking to PC Gamer, NCSoft said “Currency fluctuations, distribution costs, taxes and market conditions in addition to the cost of goods are all contributing factors when setting pricing.”

“These vary dramatically between NA and EU, and our pricing is competitive and adjusted accordingly.”

The Collector’s Edition will include a 25cm statue, 5 art prints, a frame, a 112-page “Making of Guild Wars 2” hardcover book and a Best of Guild Wars 2 soundtrack among other goodies. Check out more details on the collector’s edition here: Guild Wars 2 collector’s edition revealed
