Worms is back. Depending on how long you’ve been playing games, you may be filled with hope or probably didn’t click this link in the first place.
The strategy series may be getting on in years, but old-timey gamers still fondly remember the original few titles in the series, before Team 17 started getting cute with 3D and other gimmicks that never really panned out and mostly left us wishing for the good old days.
With this new title, Worms Revolution, Team 17 promises to stay true to their roots with side-on gameplay and “old favourites such as the Super Sheep and Holy Hand Grenade”. However the developer does add that we’ll be getting a brand new engine, new features and exciting new challenges.
It’ll be the first time we’ve seen a new Worms Game since Worms: Ultimate Mayhem last year, which if you’re honest is basically just Worms 4: Mayhem from 2005. There were other Worms releases every year from 2006 – 2011, but you’d be forgiven for not really remembering them.
Let’s hope this one returns us to classic invertebrate genocide.
