Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And the man at the back said
Everyone attack and it turned into a Rock Band Blitz
And the girl in the corner said
Boy, I wanna warn ya, it’ll turn into a Rock Band Blitz
Rock Band Blitz, Rock Band Blitz, Rock Band Blitz
Rock Band Blitz
Okay, now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, it turns out Harmonix is going back to the school of rock. Kind of. I haven’t played Amplitude or Frequency, but according to a report over on G4TV, Rock Band Blitz is a bit like those games.
Basically, you bump between any of the incoming instruments tracks and bash out the notes on your (regular) controller, adding power-ups for bonuses and big points. The game goes out with 25 tracks, but is also compatible with all previous Rock Band on-disc and downloadable content, including over 3,500 songs. The new songs in Rock Band Blitz can also be imported into Rock Band 3.
No proper multiplayer mode, though, which feels like a bit of a miss.
The game is due out later this year, although no price has been confirmed yet.
