Grasshopper Manufacture, Suda51 announce Killer is Dead

4 April 2012

Goichi “Suda51” Suda’s studio Grasshopper Manufacture has announced its hot new thing, Killer is Dead, for PS3 and Xbox.

According to Adriasang, the game’s protagonist is the unambiguously-named “Executioner”, who “goes around the world putting an end to S level criminals”. Whatever that means. It has swords too, apparently, and “beautiful Bond Girl-like ladies”.

In an interview with Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, Suda listed the game’s themes as “moon”, “earth”, “brilliant game”, and “love”, because a guy who calls himself Suda51 and works on games with names like Lollipop Chainsaw can’t be expected to just say, “It’s an action game. You kill stuff for points.”

Killer is Dead is scheduled to launch next year, but in the meantime, you can get your Grasshopper Manufacture fix with Sine Mora (released last week on XBLA), the Kinect-only Diabolical Pitch (releasing today on XBLA), Lollipop Chainsaw (June, PS3 and Xbox), and Black Knight Sword (PSN, XBLA later this year). Busy developer is busy.
