A new Mass Effect 3 update released to fix Mass Effect 2 character import problems has fixed the Mass Effect 2 character import problems, but broken Mass Effect 3.
According to about a million complaints over on BioWare’s forums, the game – and sometimes consoles themselves – are now locking up at the title screen, while it dials out to EA’s servers. The crashes seem to be affecting mostly Xbox players, although a couple of PS3 players are reporting the same thing.
BioWare is apparently “aware of the issues”, and working on a fix to fix the previous fix, and hopefully also to fix whatever it is that’s been causing random game disconnections since launch. Getting dumped from the servers at the end of wave 9 is only funny once, and it wasn’t even funny then.
In the meantime, you can try loading the game while disconnected from Xbox LIVE, clearing the console’s system cache, swapping discs, or just keep trying to start the game, over and over, until it (maybe) actually starts. Ahhh, good times.

Not had any problems mentioned on PC, not that it was listed as a problem platform.
I did get something strange last night though. Finished a silver challenge multiplayer stage. Full extraction. The game just… stayed there for about 10 seconds then it told me that I had left the game. It went to the mission debrief and said mission failed. 0 xp, 0 credits and you are a disgrace. Lost one of the very rare Silver wins 🙁
