King.com now has nearly 10 million daily players on Facebook, overtaking EA as the third most popular games company on the social network.

The company, known for its saga series of games which includes Bubble Witch Saga, shot to fame when they launched on Facebook a year ago.

Bubble Witch Saga is King.com’s most popular game on Facebook, and has more daily players than Zynga’s hit game Farmville.

The company’s sixth Facebook game, Candy Crush Saga, has tallied up nearly half a million players within a week according to AppData, who track metrics on Facebook.

Zynga is currently the most popular gaming company on Facebook with 65 million daily visitors and nearly 80 games, including Texas Hold’Em Poker and Mafia Wars.

German social games firm Wooga, whose games include Diamond Dash follows Zynga as the second most popular company on the site.

“Our ultimate ambition is to be the leader in our segment of games for the casual social player, mainly female, social and mobile,” King.com’s Chief Executive and co-founder Riccardo Zacconi said in an interview with Reuters. “Our target is to reach Zynga.”
