Prototype 2 launch events happening in Cape Town and Joburg next week

The nice people at Megarom, 2upGamers, and JHBGamers have 3-upped to host Prototype 2 post-launch events in both Johannesburg and Cape Town next week Thursday (26 April 2012) – and everybody’s invited! Well, I say “invited”, but it’s actually a mandatory testing procedure for the Blacklight virus, and anybody who doesn’t attend will be shot on sight by Blackwatch operatives to avoid potential contagion.

It’s all happening at Rygersdal Sports Club in Cape Town and the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Joburg from 18:30 onwards. Entrance is free but you must sign up first at the link below to get in. If you just turn up without registering, you’ll be shot on sight by Blackwatch operatives to avoid potential contagion.

According to the official site, there will also be “GIVEAWAYS, PRIZES, COSPLAY AND MORE” in addition to not being shot on sight by Blackwatch operatives to avoid potential contagion, so that’s a bonus extra.

“We’ve wanted to do good proper launch events down in Cape Town for a few months now and thanks to Megarom we will now have this opportunity to start what we think will become a hot trend not only for Megarom titles, but we’re hoping the other local distributors will follow suite,” said 2upGamers’ Glenn Alexander.

“Ultimately if we can host big title launches monthly or bi-monthly this can only mean wonders for our hungry gaming community. Since last night when event registrations went live the stream of notifications I’ve received has been overwhelming. Knowing there are so many gamers out there wanting these kind of events.”

The next day is a public holiday, so no excuses, but just in case you need a bit more incentive, Glenn promised Cape Town gamers would be treated to “the pulling of a rather big rabbit from the hat on the night, which we think will even make the JHBgamers at their party a touch jealous.”
