Cybersmart is getting set to launch a range of new uncapped ADSL products with prices likely to start at around R275 per month.
Cybersmart MD Laurie Fialkov told MyBroadband that the recent IPC price cut and new hardware investments have finally made it possible for them to offer an uncapped ADSL product.
Fialkov said that they are planning to launch two uncapped products: a home uncapped and a business uncapped service.
“The only difference between the two uncapped ADSL products is the number of allowed TCP connections. The home product is designed for up to a 5 person network with a maximum of 100 TCP connections,” explained Fialkov.
An interesting limitation of the system used by Cybersmart is that it cannot rate limit a user to 384kbps, 1024kbps or 4Mbps. The solution is that the ADSL accounts will only be sold as part of a bundle with an ADSL line.
Pricing for the products have not been finalized yet, but Fialkov provided the following rough pricing guidelines:
- Uncapped 384Kbps account and DSL384 access – R275;
- Uncapped 1024Kbps account and DSL1024 access – R575;
- Uncapped 4Mbps account and DSL4096 access – R1,599.
The pricing is not the cheapest on the market, but Fialkov highlighted that their focus is not only on affordability but also on quality.
“We are planning on overselling our uncapped product at 15:1 to 20:1, which we believe is a lot better than the current products out there,” said Fialkov.
Fialkov said that they are planning to launch their home uncapped product before 1 June with their business uncapped ADSL service following towards the end of 2012.
