Linux gamers will be happy to know that Valve’s digital distribution software is looking likely to hit the operating system.
According to Phoronix, the elusive platform is in development – Valve co-founder Gabe Newell replied to a Twitter question with: “Steam is coming to Linux”.
The statement was clarified when Newell reached out to Phoronix founder Michael Larabel, who went on to tweet “Valve does have Linux games coming plus other very positive Linux plans”.
Rumours surrounding Steam support for Linux have been floating for quite a while now, as job posts for devs with experience in porting “Windows-based games to the Linux platform” emerged from Valve.
Well, Linux users can rest easy as all the Steamy goodness will be at your disposal sometime in the near future.
