Bethesda’s smash hit RPG Fallout 3 was undoubtedly one of the stand-out success stories of 2008, and what better way to follow up than by expanding on the already ample and impressive game world, with new zones, quests and items.
The Pitt joins Operation Anchorage in becoming the second DLC pack released for Fallout 3.
The additional content costs 800 MS points, and is available for both PC and Xbox 360.
The new DLC introduces a new linear quest progression and is set in the post-apocalyptic remains of Pittsburgh (The Pitt, get it?).
Why you should not download it just yet
The DLC released yesterday has been found to be riddled with a host of strange bugs. The DLC is suffering from various visual glitches such as bright blue exclamation marks and characters appearing randomly, as well as game crashes and general instability. Bethesda has removed the content and is in the process of trying to correct the issue.
Bethesda has stated that the bugginess stems from a damaged file that somehow became corrupted and is causing the issues being reported on both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the DLC.
Once the issue has been resolved, Bethesda is hopeful that it will be able to put the DLC back up for download.
There is still one more DLC pack scheduled to be released for Fallout 3. Broken Steel is currently set for an April release and will increase the game’s level cap to 30 and will allow gamers to continue questing beyond the game’s ending.
