Half-Life 3 at E3? Valve has something to say about that

3 May 2012

As the annual E3 Expo creeps closer and closer, game company heads are getting poked and prodded into telling the community what they may be showing off at this year’s show.

One game everyone wants is Half-Life 3, and as gamers impatiently wait year-in and year-out for the announcement, it looks as if Valve are not going to please fans just yet.

An e-mail sent by Gabe Newell to fan site Valve Time set the record straight on the company’s E3 plans.

“We are not announcing anything at E3. Really. We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. We are going to be showing stuff everyone already knows about (CS:Go, Dota 2, 10′ UI, …)”

So it appears that no Portal, Left 4 Dead or elusive Half-Life instalments will be revealed this year.

Could this be Valve trying to avoid disappointed fans on the show floor? Or could this be a diversion to calm down the hype? Let us know what you think.
