The Elder Scrolls Online revealed

4 May 2012

Rumours and speculation surrounding an online component of Elder Scrolls have been floating around for quite some time and now official details of the MMO RPG have finally been unveiled.

Featuring on the cover of GameInformer’s June issue, The Elder Scrolls Online is set to take the massively online multiplayer game world by storm.

Developed by the team at Zenimax Online Studios, the Elder Scrolls Online is set to bring everything expected of the large, intricate and ambitious series, and combine it with the scale and social aspects of a MMO.

Players will get to explore and uncover a brand new chapter in the Elder Scrolls saga, as the events of the online game will take place a millennium before Skyrim, as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm.

The game will feature well-crafted solo quests and public dungeons, along with player-driven PvP conflicts that throw three player factions against one another in open-world warfare throughout the province of Cyrodiil and the Emperor’s throne.

“It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years,” said game director and MMO veteran Matt Firor, whose previous work includes Mythic’s well-received Dark Age of Camelot. “The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
