Rumour control: Ubisoft making Avengers game

It’s impossible to log onto Facebook or pretty much any other social service at the moment without being inundated with praise for the Avengers movie with entirely too many exclamation points. And stupid Hulk smash jokes to boot.

This makes it a great target for a video game adaptation, and some new evidence shows that French publisher Ubisoft could be doing just that. A newly registered domain name, avengersbattleforearth.com, has caused the flurry of speculation as it was registered by Marvel Characters and is listed on the Ubisoft servers, meaning it’s probably not a random fanfiction.

No other information is available at present, or how far along in the development process this game even is, if it does indeed exist. The game, presumably titled Avengers: Battle for Earth, is an extremely well-kept secret if it is indeed real, and is sure to net Ubisoft several millions of dollars regardless of whether or not it’s terrible.
