In space, nobody can hear you scream. Except maybe the Stalkers. And those creepy kids. And your co-op buddy. Okay, so loads of things can hear you scream, but the important bit is that in Dead Space 3, you won’t go in alone.
That’s according to IGN’s industry flies-on-the-wall, who claim that the next sequel will feature a drop-in, drop-out co-op campaign, with a second character described as “a man with a gnarly scar on his face, an engineering RIG of his own, and glowing red eyes peering from his helmet” who “acts as Isaac’s guide”. Hmmm.
So if your partner turns out to be a hallucination, I totally called it.
Some of the other new features include crouching and evasive rolls, redesigned weapons, and “skyscraper-sized” enemies. Man, Isaac Clarke just can’t get a break.
The same source also backed up previous rumours that the third game would be dumping the outer space setting for a “desolate snow planet”.
EA confirmed earlier this week that a new Dead Space game was already in the works, promising big things at E3 in June.
