Some BT Games Diablo III Collector’s Edition pre-orders delayed

BT Games has alerted their customers that some Diablo III Collector’s Edition pre-orders may not be fulfilled on launch day.

An SMS sent to one MyGaming reader follows:

Please Note. D3 Midnight CE is delayed by supplier. Expecting stock next week. Notices will be sent. Apologies for the inconvenience. Regards BT Games.

With scant information contained in the SMS, and a number of irate gamers taking to the MyGaming forum and BT Games’ Facebook page to voice their complaints about the delay (especially in light of a R300 non-refundable deposit), BT Games has posted clarification on the delay.

Their response is published verbatim below.

Hi Guys, Just a quick comment to clear up the DIABLO CE delay issue that seems to be going around.

Last month we had orders come in that never made the amount of stock we had. So these people were notifed that their order for a collectors did not qualify. We then managed to secure and extra 200 copies of the collectors for these specific orders. We notified these people on monday of certain criteria we needed, to make sure they are serious about the copy. We have since been told that these extra 200 copies we have managed to secure did not make the first shipment for the game and are thus delayed. The deposit requested for these copies are included in the final price, and not extra.

All other Diablo Collectors editions are on time. so if you have an order and have paid your deposit and your latest confirmation says Diablo collectors and not Diablo midnight launch then your game will arrive on time.

Via Facebook, BT Games has been offering to supply a standard edition of Diablo III to gamers who do not wish to wait for the Collector’s Edition. Their deposit will be offset against the cost of the Standard edition.
