Modern Warfare 3 to get free Face-Off DLC

Fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and free stuff can look forward to the release next week of a free Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer add-on. It doesn’t get better than this, except maybe a free tank.

The Face-Off add-on includes two new maps – Aground and Erosion – specially designed for small-scale 1v1 and 2v2 shoot-’em-ups. The first map is set on a beached ship on the coast of Scotland, while the second is in the midst of a volcanic eruption in Italy.

At the same time, Activision will also be dropping an Elite care package with a new Content Collection, featuring three new multiplayer maps (Sanctuary, Foundation and Oasis), two new Spec Ops missions (Iron Clad, Kill Switch) and two additional Face Off maps (Getaway and Lookout).

Both Face-Off and the Content Collection will be out on Xbox on 15 May, although the second is a timed exclusive for Elite subscribers until a public release on 21 May. Dates for PC and PS3 have not yet been announced.
