Battlefield premium subscription service incoming, rumour has it

In news that didn’t shock the world today, it looks like Battlefield is getting a premium subscription service like Call of Duty Elite. Anything Activision can do, EA can do. Whether it’s better or not is probably irrelevant, though, as long as there’s cash in the bank.

According to GamesIndustry’s mysterious “anonymous sources”, Battlefield Premium subscribers would have access to exclusive content, most of it aesthetic.

“Battlefield Premium will land you a number of content drops with unique in-game items not available anywhere else,” is the alleged description from an alleged document seen by the alleged sources.

“First out is the one-of-a-kind Premium knife and black dog tag, plus a set of soldier camos, weapon camos, dog tags and Assignments that will make sure you stand out and get more personalization options.”

The sources also claim that a number of expansions are already in the works, including one scheduled to launch in March 2013. Remember to pretend to be really surprised.
