Bad Company 3, Mirror’s Edge 2 could be happening

16 May 2012

It seems that LinkedIn is becoming a top source for game info leaks, stealing the crown of leakage from online retailers.

The latest bits of information come in the form of two unannounced EA games – Battlefield: Bad Company 3 and Mirror’s Edge 2.

Michael Joseph C, a programmer and LinkedIn user, stated to have “provided video game prototype, design and demo feedback on various AAA titles including the Battlefield: Bad Company 3, Dead Space 2, Devil May Cry 5 and other unannounced titles”.

Another possible hint came from an ex-EA software engineer, who claimed to have worked on “the wandering of crowd system within Unreal3 engine” on Mirror’s Edge 2 in 2009; while another former employee said that he implemented “new gadgets and interactive features”,“leaderboards” and a “mini-game” for the yet-to-be-announced free-running sequel.

The culminated information suggests that both games could currently be in development at EA DICE.

Last year, EA Games President Frank Gibeau said that the publisher hadn’t killed off the franchise and are “actively looking at how to bring it back in the right way.”

He also mentioned that if the game did hit the production process, it would run on DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, which powered Battlefield 3.

If the two games are in fact in development, E3 2012 would be good time to announce something and set the rumours straight.
