An image of a new, revised Wii U controller has been leaked, supposedly by a tester for Traveller’s Tales, the developers of Lego Star Wars.
The difference that immediately brings attention is the addition of analogue sticks as we’re used to seeing them, instead of the little nubs found on the Nintendo 3DS.
There are some other small changes, such as the start and select buttons being moved to the right, and a small square button put in just below the directional pad – most likely to sync controller to console.
Another interesting thing to note is the addition of Wii U branding – significant in that it would indicate Nintendo isn’t planning on changing the console’s name – something rumoured earlier this year.
This is a controller unit specifically sent to a developer, but it’s probably safe to assume these changes are intended for the final, retail models as well.
