Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath coming to PS Vita next month

21 May 2012

There’s a PS Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath in development? There’s a PS Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath in development!

Technically, I don’t actually have a PS Vita, but I suppose I could make my own knuckle dusters out of egg boxes and go punching criminals or something. It’s totally almost kind of the same thing, a bit.

For everybody else though, developer Just Add Water has announced that the game is on schedule for a late May launch.

“We started work on [the Vita version of Stranger’s Wrath] about five and a half weeks ago,” said JAW boss Stewart Gilray.

“The guy who’s doing it had actually never touched a Vita before — he just plugged it in and read the documentation. He probably spent half a week reading the documentation and then the next week he already had the code running. He was surprised how quickly he managed to get things going.”

Gilray also confirmed that the HD remake of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is about a month out from QA testing, and due for release on the PlayStation Network sometime soon after that. No XBLA release? I think I’ve changed my mind about punching criminals.
