SEGA, Gearbox Software, and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products finally got together to hammer out a release for Aliens: Colonial Marines – a game that has been on and off development and delayed a few times since 2006.
Assuming everything goes to plan, Aliens: Colonial Marines should be with us on 12 February 2013, for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. A Wii U launch date will be revealed later.
Player’s will be stepping into the first-person boots of United States Colonial Marines as they face off against the iconic baddies from the Aliens films. The multiplayer component of the game also allows players to enter a third-person mode to play as the Aliens as well.
Check out the launch date trailer below – Gearbox totally means business.
About Aliens: Colonial Marines
Aliens: Colonial Marines begins with an ostensibly abandoned ship, the U.S.S. Sulaco, recovered in orbit around LV-426. Players lead a group of highly trained United States Colonial Marines as they board the deserted craft to uncover the fate of the crew.
They will have to fight to survive unspeakable horrors and their own anxieties as they chase down the truth behind a galaxy-spanning deception that places humanity at the mercy of the most murderous and deadly species in the universe.
Aliens: Colonial Marines features authentic environments, such as the surface of LV-426 and Hadley’s Hope, weapons inspired by the film series and is designed to provide an exhilarating and engaging new chapter in the ALIENS universe.
