Everybody else has backed the Tex Murphy Kickstarter project, so why don’t you?

22 May 2012

With all the Kickstarter vintage series reboots happening lately, it’s kind of hard to keep tabs on what’s up and on the go over there. That’s my excuse for not knowing there was a Tex Murphy game in the works. Also, I’ve spent the last week playing Diablo, and I’m not quite sure what’s even real anymore.

But apparently this thing is. Big Finish Games has already got more than $230,000 in the piggy-backer bank, with a target goal of $450,000 and 24 days left on the clock.

“We had 35,000 hits in the first ten hours. I was just overwhelmed by that. Then to see these guys dig in and try to get us press, try to bring their friends on board, it’s really been fantastic, it’s just amazing,” Big Finish boss and original Tex Murphy man Chris Jones told Rock Paper Shotgun.

According to the project page, the game is in development for a PC and Mac launch, with “more platforms” on the list if they meet their target. So back it now, because I want it on iPad.
