Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 trailer brings the boom

Sniping games are somewhat of a niche sub-genre for action games, but there’s no denying that pulling off a true headshot is something gamers all want to be a part of. With the recent Sniper Elite V2, and now a sequel to City Interactive’s 2010 shooter (which made it’s jump to PS3 last year), scope-junkies are getting their fair-share of sniping action.

In terms of the latter game, we now have a new trailer for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2. The next instalment is running on Crytek’s CryEngine 3, so it’s looking pretty darn good – let’s just hope that it plays just as good.

This time around, gamers will be heading into the deep, dangerous jungles of Burma to seek out weapons of mass destruction which are changing hands through shady deals. You are the lone sniper sent to intercept these dodgy doings by any means necessary. Because what would any military game be without shooting baddies in the face and saving the day?

Despite being primarily based around a jungle setting, we get to see some action taking place in a war-torn city.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is due out 24 August, 2012.
