Local gamers will soon be able to get their hands on the 3DS horror game Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir.
The augmented reality game from Nintendo and Tecmo Koei use the 3DS camera and in-game visuals to create a unique experience on the system.
Accompanied with a special AR book called the ‘purple diary’, players need to film the book with the 3DS camera, as well as scan their environments in order to find and capture paranormal events occurring.
Using the book, the 3DS camera unlocks pages in the books by projecting 3D images and visuals to the player, therefore progressing the frightening story of the game.
Other modes, such as Spirit Challenge, assign attributes such as ‘Attack Power’, ‘Speed’ and ‘HP’ to a picture of a face taken with the Nintendo 3DS camera, allowing you to fight in a special version of a Story Mode battle. The ‘Cursed Pages’ mode allows you to play through a collection of games using the Nintendo 3DS camera and the Purple Diary, ranging from riddles to puzzles.
Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir is set to launch locally on 6 July, 2012.
