Rumour control: The Witcher 1 coming to Xbox, PS3

29 May 2012
The Witcher 2

The Witcher 2 recently launched on Xbox 360, and if the rumours are true, it looks like the first game will be following.

It’s all backwards, but hey, that’s just the stuff Witchers are made of. In fact, in the original King’s Quest, there was a note in the witch’s house reading “Sometimes it’s wise to think backwards”. Witch, witcher – coincidence? I think not. Obviously, this is all part of some weird witchy plan.

Anyway, the game is down for a PS3 and Xbox release over on the Danish Blockbuster store, and the Danish CoolShop has a PS3 version listed, according to VG247.

The game was in development for console back in 2008 already and scheduled to release the next year, but the project was suspended for one reason or another.

Developer CD Projekt has been dropping hints about a “major announcement” due at the company’s summer press conference tomorrow night. Is this it? Probably.

Shouldn’t bother releasing it for PS3. What’s the point, unless they’re gonna send over the sequel as well.
