Battlefield Premium launch date and pricing infiltrates PS store

Somebody over at Sony’s PlayStation Store HQ is in big trouble today, after a listing for the as yet unannounced Battlefield Premium service was added then subsequently removed, but not before everyone on the internet saw it and hit CTRL+C.

According to the listing, the service will be launching next Monday, 4 June, alongside the new Battlefield 3 Close Quarters DLC expansion, and is priced at £39.99 / €49.99, or around about R500.

The subscription service was previously pegged at £35, which was kind of extortionate to start with, so nobody’s going to be happy about this.

Although EA and DICE have not confirmed anything as yet, the service’s exclusive content has already been leaked, including:

  • 20 Maps
  • 20 New Weapons
  • 10+ New Vehicles
  • 4+ New Game Modes
  • 30+ Assignments
  • 20+ Dog Tags
  • Back to Karkand
  • Close Quarters in June 2012
  • Armored Kill in Fall 2012
  • Aftermath in late 2012
  • End Game in Spring 2013
