Inversion developer diary puts shooting genre on its head

4 June 2012

Namco Bandai’s upcoming third-person shooter, Inversion, has got a new developer diary which details the story and gravity-defying combat on offer.

The game stars Davis Russell, a run-of-the-mill cop, who’s world is literally turned upside down when a mysterious enemy wielding gravity-altering devices take on New York.

However, Davis and his partner Leo are not disadvantaged, as they get their hands on a GravLink device, allowing them to take advantage of gravity manipulation as well.

The result is some pretty crazy gunfights that put the shooting genre on it’s head by adding zero gravity to the gameplay.

Developer, Saber Interactive, are promising to bring a new spin on the traditional shooter genre and have crafted an interesting story that is said to deliver some ‘twists’ which fit into the game’s world.

Inversion is set to release on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in June this year, following a recent delay.
