Beyond: Two Souls – Quantic Dream’s new game stars Ellen Page

5 June 2012

Following the speculation surrounding what Quantic Dream’s new game may be, the Heavy Rain developer has released a trailer for their PS3 exclusive, Beyond: Two Souls.

The game appears similar to Heavy Rain, although this is no typical murder mystery. Beyond: Two Souls features supernatural elements to highlight the dramatic psychological thriller undertone to the action.

Academy Award nominee Ellen Page (Inception) stars as the main character, Jodie Holmes, and provided voice and motion capture for the role.

The story revolves around Jodie’s psychic link with an invisible entity, which grants her extraordinary supernatural powers. Jodie will apparently be trotting across the globe in her adventures, and players will be able to control both her and her psychic entity.

Quantic Dreams boasts that “Jodie will face incredible challenges against a backdrop of emotionally-charged events never before seen in a video game”.

The game will be built on a new engine from Quantic Dreams and will feature PS Move integration. The title is a single-player experience and is headed for a Q4 2012 release window.

Not much is known besides that, although more should be revealed soon during E3 2012. Stay tuned to MyGaming for all the E3 coverage as it unfolds.
