A Dead Island sequel rumour surfaced last week, and it has proven true, as Deep Silver have officially announced a follow-up to the zombie-fest.
The sequel, which will also be developed by Techland, is set to resurrect the perils and horror of the first game.
No news on whether Riptide will be a full-blown sequel or something else, as details are incredibly slim at this point in time, although Deep Silver did say that they would be revealing some more information soon.
The first Dead Island became a best-selling game within the genre, and although it did well critically, there were some complaints regarding the “technical issues, repetitive combat and a general lack of credible physics”, as Alex Hempel mentioned in his MyGaming review.
Maybe Techland can perfect the sandbox zombie adventure we’re all hoping for.
