Epic’s Unreal Engine has been passed around like a pack of chewing-gum in a school-yard.
Just about every game developer has used Epic’s tech to build their projects, and now the innovators themselves are showing off their next update of their 3D graphics engine.
Last month, we got to see the technology being shown off in some screenshots, and now we’ve finally got to see The Unreal Engine 4 in action.
The demo, which was built in less than 3 months by 14 engineers, is rendered in real-time and said to be glimpse into what into where in-game visuals are heading.
The engine will undoubtedly find its way into game developers hands in the near future, but with the Unreal Engine 3 still looking gorgeous in games such as Gears of War 3, Mass Effect 3, Arkham City and the upcoming Borderlands sequel, the new iteration of Epic’s engine may find itself at home with some of the PS4 and Xbox 720 launch titles.
