Resident Evil 6 co-op details revealed

With Resident Evil 6 revealing that the fright-fest has 3 different campaigns, with two protagonists in each, it’s pretty obvious the game will feature some sort of co-op, similar to that of Resident Evil 5.

Capcom have shed some light on the co-operative elements of the upcoming entry, and its pretty ambitious and interesting what the developer is doing.

“As for the multiplayer mode, so there will be competitive multiplayer, which we want to announce at a later date. What we present here at E3, however, our co-op feature, which is called ‘crossover’,” said a Capcom representative.

‘Crossover’ is an interesting addition to the franchise (and genre for that matter), and will allow co-op players to join up with others when the stories merge.

“All three main stories each offer two-player co-op throughout the campaign. At certain key points in the action when events overlap, for example, when Leon and Chris are both in China, the game will seamlessly transition from two separate two-player co-op experiences, to a single four-player co-op gaming experience. AI characters in the plot are replaced with real players and you can stand stand together. We are very proud of this feature and hope that players will enjoy it. ”

Capcom also recently showed off a fair amount of Resident Evil 6 in action at last week’s E3 expo,

The gameplay highlighted some of the new features, such as being able to move while shooting (a first for the series), as well as the new cover mechanic.
