You’ve heard about Wreck-It Ralph already, obviously – it’s the new Disney movie about video games that looks like it might also be the first movie about video games that isn’t excruciatingly awful.
The movie’s protagonist is Wreck-It Ralph, a bad guy who has grown tired of being the bad guy in a game called Fix-It Felix Jr, where he smashes buildings and dumps bricks on the window repair guy. And now, that game is available to play in your browser over on the movie’s official site.
Technically, you’re forcing Ralph to be the bad guy against his will and being a part of the vilifying, hegemonic subcultural oppression he’s objecting to, but them’s the breaks. Get it? “Breaks”. Because the game is about breaking stuff. I should take this show on the road.
