Rumours have been around for a little while now (although no one really took them seriously), but it looks as if an Expendables video game tie-in to the upcoming movie sequel is on the cards.
The information has slipped out through the Australian Classification Board’s website, which has listed the said unannounced Ubisoft video game, and slapped a ‘Mature’ rating on the title.
The rating also features the common online tag that “gaming experience may change online”, suggesting the Expendables 2 video game will also include some sort of multiplayer component.
Previous rumours also hint that the game will feature shooting, knife-kills and a ‘chopper mini-game’.
Gamers and fans of the original film would probably understand why the Expendables would make a good video game, as the film itself is a homage to cheesy action movies from the 80’s – i.e. lots of explosions, lots of one-liners and a ton of cringe-worthy moments.
The upcoming all-action sequel starring Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, is hitting theatres in August; so let’s hope we have an equally ridiculous video game to go with it.
