Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers screens and trailer

Wizards of the Coast have released a trailer and some screenshots for the third digital version of the company’s Magic: The Gathering card game.

Subtitled Duels of the Planeswalkers, the new games allows gamers to take control of the Planeswalkers, mages who have spells, creatures and artifacts as weapons in their quest for domination.

A new addition to the series is the inclusion of Planechase cards, which are specifically designed for multiplayer. These cards cause the multiplayer duel to jump from plane to plane, therefore adding some variety by modifying the game’s rules between rounds.

Ten new decks, new puzzle changes and optional manual mana tapping are also thrown into the mix.

Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers is heading to PC, iPad, PSN and XBLA on 20 June 2012.
