Humble Indie Bundle V closes with $5.1 million in the bank

The Humble Indie Bundle V sale has finished up, and it was a biiiiiig one. The biggest yet, in fact, by more than double the previous record of $2.37 million. Twice as nice for the same low price, or something like that.

The promo saw 598,962 bundles sold for a grand total of $5,106,529.34, with an average purchase price of $8.53. The pay-whatever-you-want deal included Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP, Limbo, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and Psychonauts, plus soundtracks, plus Bastion, Lone Survivor, Braid, and Super Meat Boy as bonus extras for those people who paid more than the average purchase price.

As usual, Linux gamers paid the most for the Bundle, with an average purchase price of $12.50, with Mac and Windows coming up in second and third place at $9.99 and $7.97 respectively.

A bidding war between the Humble Brony Bundle initiative and Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson saw the two contributing final amounts of $13,167.84 and $12,345.67. It’s for charity, though, so that’s at least one child saved from dinosaurs.
