Worlds of Ultima games now free on GOG

Fans of free stuff – and let’s be honest, who isn’t a fan of free stuff? – should drop everything right now and rush-click over to GOG to get both Worlds of Ultima games for absolutely nothing. It’s the best deal you’ll get today, unless you find a free spaceship.

The Worlds of Ultima series, including Worlds of Ultima: The Savage Empire (originally released in 1990) and Worlds of Ultima 2: Martian Dreams (1991) were spin-offs of the regular swords ‘n’ sorcery series, taking place in a tribal jungle setting and the Victorian era respectively. The second game features Sigmund Freud as an NPC, so you know it’s going to be… interesting. Or perhaps you just have some unresolved resentment towards your mother.

If Worlds of Ultima isn’t your sort of thing, I’d also remind you that the very excellent Beneath a Steel Sky is still free on GOG. If you don’t love this game, you probably don’t have a soul.
