Last week, Crytek’s Cevat Yerli said when asked about a new Timesplitters: “I love the idea, and I wish we’ll work on it, but currently we are not working on it.”

He went on to say: “The thing with TimeSplitters is, if we made a sequel to TimeSplitters, nobody would accept this apart from some fans, and we don’t know how big the fan community is unfortunately.”

Well, the fans have decided to show exactly how big the community is.

A Timesplitters 4 Facebook page quickly followed and has grown pretty solidly in recent days. The group states: “We are a group trying to convince Crytek to finish developing TimeSplitters 4! Even if it means doing a Kickstarter. (I’d fund that!).. Note: Even though the page is to gain 100k, we’ll probably need much more. So don’t give up at 100k!”

Original reports rumoured a Timesplitters 4 to be in development for Xbox 720 and Playstation 4, although Crytek came out saying that they had blown all the development money on “buying monkeys” instead.

Despite Crytek’s monkeying around, it seems like the company is taking notice of the demand, with Yerli even tweeting: “how big is the Timesplitters Community? Let me hear you!!”
