Nintendo reveals bigger, better 3DS XL

Proving again that anything Nintendo can do, Nintendo can do bigger and better a year later, the company has officially unveiled the inevitable bigger, better 3DS. You knew it was coming.

Most obviously, the 3DS XL features a 4.88-inch screen, which is a whopping 90 percent bigger than the current model’s 2.02-inch screen. By comparison, the PlayStation Vita has a 5-inch screen.

The new model also adds improved battery life, estimated at around 3.5-6.5 hours for 3DS games, and 6-10 hours for original DS titles, and will be available in red, blue, and silver at launch next month.

  • 134mm × 74mm × vertical thickness horizontal 21mm (when folded)

Top screen
