Satoru Iwata has announced that Namco Bandai is developing the next Smash Bros. game, under the supervision of the original creator of the series, Masahiro Sakurai.
Project Sora, the developer behind the popular game Kid Icarus: Uprising, is also contributing in the development of next Smash Bros. title.
To add even more talent behind the game, the team behind the Tekken series, as well as Tetsuya Akatsuka (art and sound director for the SoulCalibur series), Yoshito Higuchi (director on Tales of Versperia), and Kenya Kobayashi (producer on Ridge Racer) are all on-board for the follow-up.
The announcement was made by Satoru Iwata at Japanese Nintendo Direct video conference. This means that we should be seeing Namco characters in Super Smash Bros 4 for Wii U and 3DS.
So who’s keen on Pac-Man vs. Mario? Or could we even see the Dragon Ball Z characters making an appearance?
